Questions to ask Wedding vendors

What questions should I ask my Wedding Vendors Photographer, DJ, Caterer, Florist, etc

You are Engaged!  Congratulations.  You are already feeling the stress of planning a Wedding.  Before you run off and elope consider these questions to ask your wedding vendors. What questions should I ask my Wedding Vendors Photographer, DJ, Caterer, Florist, etc

Whether you are having a Wedding Planner or not, it is good to know who your Wedding vendors really are inside and out.  This is a list of questions that will help you break the initial awkwardness and help you decide if the vendors you like are right for you.

What questions should I ask my Wedding Vendors Photographer, DJ, Caterer, Florist, etc

  1. How long have you been in this business and how many Weddings have you completed?
  2. Are you an owner/operator and will you be at/working my Wedding?
  3. Tell me about a time when something went wrong at a wedding and how did you resolve the issue?
  4. Who is in charge of my Wedding?
  5. Are you a take-charge type of person or a take orders type of person?
  6. How do you work with other people who you might not know?
  7. If there is an issue who will you go to resolve it on and/or before the Wedding day?
  8. Have you ever missed or had to miss/cancel a Wedding?  Why?
  9. What makes you different from everyone else?
  10. Can you tell me about a Bride or Groom that was unhappy with your service?  Why?
  11. Is this a full-time career for you or do you have other jobs?
  12. What is your equipment?  When was it last updated?  Where does it come from?  Do you have a backup?  Will the backup be readily available on my Wedding day?
  13. Tell me about your personality.
  14. Why did you choose your career and why do you continue doing it?
  15. How do you deal with people, other than myself, who ask for something on my Wedding day?

You can form your own opinions on how you would like these questions answered.  This is a great starting point to get a feel for who you are hiring.  Weddings are not inexpensive and knowing that you have not only professional people but “good” people working alongside you will ensure that your day is the best day ever.

Comment below if you have some more questions to add to this list.  I would love to update it regularly to really give Brides and Grooms the best advice.
