Canon 16-35mm L lens
My new Canon lens came in yesterday and my wife and I were just playing around with it last night. No special lighting, obviously, but just seeing what it can do. I am already loving this new lens. It will be a lethal combination with my Canon 70-200 lens. I will carry both lens on me at all times. I still use Canon 20Ds and I see no need for upgrading anytime soon since the cameras record wonderful images for me, and will continue to as long as I put great lens in from of it.
Just my quick two sense on this lens, I bought it from B&H but they matched Buydig.com for a $30 discount. I also received a $100 instant rebate. It was expensive but I know I will make hundreds of thousands of wonderful images for me. An investment to say the least. The lens itself is really not that big or heavy. I was expecting a monster but it will balance well with my camera and battery pack. The lens is fast focusing and can focus ridiculously close. I love this feature and it will be utilized often. The background blur is nice and soft. The only thing that I dislike, and maybe I just have to get used to it, but the zoom ring is really set close the the camera mount and I have a tough time orienting my hands for this. I am sure this will change with time but I am used to a bit more space in there. Well, here are some funny and just different shots my wife and I did last night (obviously they are not color corrected, straight from the camera with auto white balance, so you are looking at compact fluorescent lighting here):
I am not really a political guy but I would suggest for everyone to read Obama’s book “The Audacity of Hope.” Democrat or Republican he has some awesome views and it is nice to see someone’s own views and how they rationalize as opposed to how the media portrays them. Happy Holidays to everyone!
