The Wedding aisle who should walk
Traditionally, the Bride would walk down the Wedding aisle with her father.
Times have changed and even circumstances sometimes force a change. Today, I will see Brides walking down the Wedding aisle with Fathers, Mothers, Brothers, Step-Father, Children, Pets, the Groom, by themselves, multiple people, and more.
Who should you walk down the Wedding aisle with on your Wedding day?
Let’s look at the situation from both sides of the aisle. To begin, ask yourself these questions.
1) What does it mean to me to have someone walk me down the aisle?
2) Who would want to escort me down the Wedding aisle?
3) Who deserves the opportunity to walk me down the Wedding aisle?
4) Would I want to walk solo down the aisle with my flower bouquet?
5) Should I have someone join me/us part way down the Wedding aisle?
6) How fast should I walk?
7) Is the aisle wide enough for all of us?
You can guarantee that all eyes will be on the Bride during the processional down the Wedding aisle, except for maybe the small children.
The views are different from both ends of the aisle. If you are walking with the Bride down the aisle you see everyone’s faces and expressions as you proceed. If you are in the front of the aisle, it feels like you are looking through a tube at the Bride with all the guests turned and looking too. You can see the Groom’s face clearly and watch the expressions on the faces of the family members who are right next to you, and the wedding party.
The final decision is always the Brides. Make sure that you will not regret your decision in the future by asking the right questions about who should proceed/walk with you down the Wedding aisle.
