The past week has been a combination of snow, rain, and fierce winds.  I was hoping for a change in weather for my Saturday Wedding.  Saturday came and the sky was clear!  I couldn’t believe it since the rest of the US looked to have severe weather.

My Saturday Wedding with Judith and Paul in Acme and Elk Rapids, Michigan was a bit different from the norm.  They decided to have their Wedding in the morning at 10am.  I started my Photography just before 7:30 am.  Needless to say I traveled the 3 hours up to the Wedding the day prior and stayed the night.

The Wedding day seemed to pan out perfectly.  The Photography went smooth, as always, and the Wedding party really relaxed with me allowing for some wonderful images.  The Wedding was basically an all day event with the ceremony at 10am, reception following until about 3pm, then a break, and an after glow from 7-10pm on Lake Michigan.  The nice day really added to the overall mood of the day.

The bride and groom entered into the reception and made their way to the unity candle.  They had music being played on piano, violin, and family vocalists singing.  It was a very personal reception.  There was speeches, cake cutting, first dance, and father daughter dance.  One thing that I thought was really neat is that they had a person doing caricatures for anyone who would like.  It took about 15 minutes a person and they were really neat.  What a great idea!  The bride and groom got one done at the end of the reception.  I almost forgot to mention the antique car that transported them, awesome!  It was a relatives car and he said that he owns a bunch of old autos.  He restores vehicles and this one was very nice.

After the reception we headed to the Lake Michigan shoreline for some outdoor images.  You can see some of them below.  They turned out very nice and I am glad we had time to capture these.

The whole day moved very smooth and quick for me.  I captured just over 2500 images for the couple.  They will have so many wonderful images of their wedding day.  You can follow the album production by monitoring this blog.  I am posting a small selection of images from the day.

Check back on Wednesday for the album design online.  It will be really cool!  The bride and groom have decided to go with the traditional album so it will be designed keeping in mind the mats that overlap the images.
