Mission Point Resort Wedding Mackinac Island Michigan / Lindsay + Eric

Mission Point Resort Wedding

What do you do on a rainy day?  You get married, of course.  Rain is just liquid sunshine.  Lindsay and Eric absolutely loved their Mission Point Resort Wedding.

Overcast days have gorgeous light.  Did you read that right?  Overcast/rainy days have beautiful light.  It is like a huge lightbox/softbox that fills shadows and bounces light all over.

The soft light is not available on sunny days.

When Lindsay and I spoke a couple days prior to her Mission Point Resort Wedding I assured her that rain is a blessing and not a curse.  Rain makes the images unique in so many ways.  I don’t mind getting wet as long as the Bride and Groom are good with it.

On the Wedding day, last Friday, the rains came down the night prior and the morning of the Wedding.  During the Wedding day, the rains held off with the exception of some mist.  It actually felt good!

Lindsay and her ladies were so fun to work with.  You could tell that they all had a wonderful connection.

Unfortunately, Lindsay’s mom was watching from above but they honored her being with many nice touches.  She was present.

Eric was such a chill guy.  He and his guys had a wonderful time getting ready in the Mission Point Resort Presidential Suite.  They hung out with my second shooter, Kris.  Thank you, Kris!

The ladies all were at Vintage Glam on Market for their hair and makeup.  Their room was the Maritime Suite at Mission Point Resort which walks right out to the back lawn.  Gorgeous spot for images!

The vendors all came together and did a wonderful job!

They had a last minute step in for a DJ since the original got caught up in the Delta Airline debacle.  Northern Michigan Entertainment Consultants, Michael, did a wonderful job at the ceremony and the reception.

The Wedding cake topper was awesome!  They had a figurine custom made with Eric in a Barry Sanders jersey and Lindsay in a Walter Peyton jersey since Eric is a Lions fan and Lindsay is a Bears fan.  Really cute!  The cake and cupcakes were prepared by Tas T Creations in St. Ignace, Michigan.

Lindsay wore a gorgeous Maggie Sottero wedding gown that accentuated her beautiful curves.  I can honestly say that this gown was made for her form.

Lindsay and her ladies were transported from Vintage Glam on Market to Mission Point Resort Wedding by Mackinac Island Carriage tour taxi.

Their uncle Matt was the officiant for the Wedding.  It was his first time and he did awesome.

My friend Kyle from Coloured Doors Videography flew back from Florida to video the wedding day.

The amazing flowers were prepared by Margaret’s Garden at the Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island.  Wonderful job ladies!

Everything was so classy, fun, and relaxed.  My kind of Wedding.

Here are a few images from their day.  If you would like to see all of the images visit Mackinac Island Mission Point Wedding Photography link.

I have been photographing Weddings on Mackinac Island for over eight years now.  My Wedding Photography background includes 15 years of Professional Photography in Weddings.  I started photography over 30 years ago in Yearbook, and continued my love of capturing moments through Nature.  I displayed my work in galleries and sold lots of stock photography.  My life in photography has grown immensely.  I still love grabbing my camera and making quality photography of my life.  I would love to share my gift with you too.  Mission Point Resort Wedding photography by Paul Retherford.
