Engagement wedding photography Mackinac Island

Mackinac Island in Northern Michigan is a place where people from all over the World come to relax, celebrate, and even get photographed once in a while. Mackinac Island is located in between lower and upper Michigan next to the Mackinac Bridge, and a short ferry trip from Mackinaw City and St. Ignace.

Mackinac Island has preserved history and holds to the old way of life with walking, biking, and horse carriages as the means of transportation. The downtown is a mix of historic buildings and new. Most tourists tend to stick around downtown on Main Street. Downtown is cool but there are many other wonderful locations on Mackinac Island.

Mackinac Island is 8.2 miles all the way around the outside road. Biking around the island is a scenic activity too.

Megan and Andrew were in from Texas to attend a friend’s wedding on Mackinac Island. They contacted me to see if I was available to shoot an Engagement session photography for their wedding invitations and announcements. Their wedding is this summer in Texas.

We met up at the Grand Hotel and did some photography around the grounds there and then we walked all the way to the ferry where we both parted ways and headed out. They were on their way to Detroit to fly out and I headed back to my hometown of Petoskey, Michigan.

These photography sessions are great because there is no stress and we just go out and make cool images on Mackinac Island! Megan and Andrew were a ton of fun and they are enjoying their memories and images from their weekend on Mackinac Island, Michigan.
