Michigan Destination Wedding

There are LOTS of beautiful wedding locations in Michigan. Over the 14 years that I had captured Weddings I have seen a whole bunch of awesome destination locations in Michigan and Internationally. If you take the time you can find the perfect location for your Wedding!

Although beauty plays a large role in the location, there are many other things that you may want to consider when you look for your Wedding Location. Here is a small list:

1) Accessibility – Remember that your guests have to get to the location, and walking longs tracks is sometime not an option for some.

2) Flexibility – How flexible is the site with your plans. You should be able to make suggestions that you want to personalize your event.

3) Indoor/Outdoor – Do you have a plan for inclement weather?

4) Distance – How far is this location from “Home.” Some guests will love a vacation and others with frown about traveling overnight.

5) What is nearby – This is important for Wedding Photographers most for images between the ceremony and reception. It is nice to be able to have an off location site to get the wedding party away from guests to make awesome images.

6) Heat/Cold – How do you deal with intense hot or cold weather. I captured a wedding in August that was around 100 degrees and almost similar humidity. Drinks in the area helped lots!

7) Preparation rooms – Where do the bride and groom get ready?

8) Parking – Is this convenient for guests. You want everyone to arrive with a smile.

9) Shipping/Mailing – Find out if there is a location that you can ship/send packages and whether they will be safe until your Wedding day. This is helpful if you are coming a long distance or if you are flying.

10) Location – The location should tell you that you should get married there. Remember this is your dream, fantasy, and reality all in one and should be representative of You.
