Hey everyone,

This past weekend was the Weddings of Christen and Tony at Hope College in Holland, Michigan and Jennifer and Troy at Yarrows in Augusta, Michigan.  I am working on getting both Weddings up online for viewing.  They should both be up by the end of the day.  You can see them at http://www.paulretherford.instaproofs.com

Christen and Tony’s Wedding was on Saturday and I was praying that the morning down pour of rain was going to subside before the ceremony.  The nice diffuse light was incredible for images and made the shots look nice and soft.  We had no rain up until the ceremony.  Everything was going as planned until there was some rain following the ceremony.  They adapted to the situation and sent everyone to the reception instead of having the punch reception that they were supposed to have.  I was able to get all of the indoor images done and get the group outdoors too for some fun images with great light.  The entire day went smooth and the bride and groom are a fantastic couple with wonderful families and friends.  I will be building an album for the couple in the next week and you will be able to see it online.  Check back for the link to their wedding album.  The couple is gone for ten days now on their honeymoon, lucky them!

Sunday was looking the same as Saturday in the morning.  More rain and overcast skies.  I was hoping for overcast skies with no rain for the nice diffuse light again.  The Wedding was about 1 hour from my house at Yarrows Golf Course.  Another beautiful location for a Wedding with an outdoor ceremony location under a tent overlooking the first hole tee area and fairway.  The sun came out as soon as we started to do images and it remained out for the rest of the day.  We made some fantastic images in spite of the high winds all day long.  I told the bride not to worry about her veil and just let it flow with the wind.  They have a nice lake spot that I took the wedding party to and the images that we made are wonderful.  I did a lot of different angles and technique because I had about 30 minutes to be creative, which is a lot of time for me.  The flower girl and ring bearer even got a chance to use my cameras and take their best shots.  I like to let the kids make images sometimes too because their angle of view and ideas are sometimes very creative and unique.  Everything went off without a hitch!  The bride and groom both looked extremely elegant.  The brides dress looked like it was hand made, so I had to ask, and she found it at David’s Bridal.  It was a white dress with light blue ornate decore, beautiful!  This ceremony probably brought the most laughter out of any Wedding Ceremony that I have attended.  Good funny that is…

Yesterday I accompanied my brother to the Silver Streak Lure Factory on the East side of Michigan.  We run their lures on the fishing boat.  They have fantastic lures and we have been with them since the beginning.  My father started out with them long before most of the other lure companies were even in business, and he is still with them today.  See their website at http://www.catchmorefish.com
and my brothers website is http://www.catchabunch.com

I am off to Milwaukee, Wisconsin for a seminar on Photoshop this week.  I have a Friday and Saturday Wedding this week too.  Busy week for me so I am going to try to design my albums in my spare time, whenever that is.  Keep checking back to see some excellent Wedding Images from the weekend.

My next blog should have some images from the weddings.

Chat with you soon.
