Summer and Jim were married on May 12, 2007. I have known Jim for a while now so I knew most of the groomsmen. My brother, Phil, was in the wedding too. You can see the online images at http://paulretherford.instaproofs.com/enterEvent.php?id=19990
I included about 1/2 of the total images taken. I have a “Photographer’s Favorites” folder that I did a bit of work on each image and made some cool effects.
The wedding was great and it went off without a hitch. The bride and groom did not see each other prior to the ceremony but I got a bunch of the images done beforehand. I knew that the groomsmen images needed to be done before getting onto the trolley after the ceremony or they just wouldn’t be the same.
The Wedding was about 190 people so a nice medium sized Wedding. I got images of everyone that came during the day. I am sure the bride and groom will appreciate that since they probably didn’t get the time to meet with everyone.
The group rented a trolley and they cruised for about an hour around Grand Rapids. They had a huge cooler for “refreshments.” Needless to say, when they got to the Centennial Country Club the images were a little tougher to organize. At this point I just go with the flow and look for pictures within pictures. I learned this technique a long time ago when I was mainly an outdoor/nature photographer. I bring so many techniques from my nature photography days to the Wedding Scene.

The groomsmen put commercial plastic wrap around the grooms truck. It was kind of humorous. I was entertained all night long. When I thought that I saw everything there was even more. Good stuff!
