This weekend is my last weekend off until labor day weekend that I am taking off. I have weddings, at least one, each week for the next 4 months. I am looking forward to the challenge. I love what I do!
My wife, dogs, and I did a 5 mile hike on the kal-haven trail on Saturday. We were looking at what appeared to be poison ivy and Megan says, “theres a morel.” As it turned out, we found 16 morels all within about 30 yards. I was sticking them in my pockets and walking with stiff legs so that I wouldn’t destroy them.
We ate the mushrooms tonight and they were GOOD!!! Megan made some bruschetta with the mushrooms, garlic, and cheese and mmmmmmmmmmmm.
Did everyone have a good cinco de mayo? We have this great Mexican place in Otsego called Mi Ranchito Tres. If you are near the area check it out. They have wonderful food, we have never had a bad meal there. The domestic beers are $1. You get a great big basket of chips and salsa for free too.
Asta was in the backyard this afternoon and let out a bark and then she did her stalking walk toward the neighbors yard. A rooster pheasant had flew by and landed in the neighbors yard and her instincts click in. I haven’t seen a pheasant around her for almost two years. Actaully the last one Sampson was on a wire leash in the yard and the pheasant landed like 50 yards from him. He took off on a dead run, broke his collar, thank god, or he would have snapped his neck, and chased the bird up the hill, but didn’t catch it. Now we have a fenced yard and the dogs know to stop before crashing into it.
What a great day today. It got to almost 80 today! We mowed the lawn and got some things done in the yard. I hope the week turns out the same.
My wife and I are recycling almost all of our garbage. We had stopped our garbage pickup because we only have one bag of garbage a week. We couldn’t believe that we have two tranfer stations within 5 miles of our house. Anyways, I encourage everyone to look into this option and try to limit your footprint on our Earth.
How about those Pistons and Wings! Just about the only good thing that Michigan has going for them right now. Except, of course, your wonderful world class Wedding Photographer, Paul Retherford.
My anniversary is Wednesday. Three years and counting. I have to keep telling myself this because I am REALLY bad with birthdays and anniversaries.
This week is going to be busy for me with the Biz. I have two albums I am working on and two print orders. I will have them all done this week. Hopefully the dogs aren’t a pain in the you know what. Asta loves to bark at me when I work too much and don’t pay attention to her.
