Northern Michigan Resort Wedding Photography

Summer in Northern Michigan is unbeatable. The combination of the weather, activities, and the hospitality make the experience perfect.

Molly grew up having summers in northern Michigan at her parents lake house on Central Lake. Living in Chicago now, she realizes how much she loves coming up to northern Michigan for a relaxing break.

Ryan met Molly in college and their relationship continued to blossom. He too lives and works in Chicago.

We met on Central Lake last year for their engagement session and spent a good amount of time making beautiful images during the day. You could tell from the moment we met that they were a good match and I was a good match for their wedding photography.

The wedding day finally came. It was a beautiful, warm summer day in northern Michigan. The ladies all met at Shanty Creek Resort in a nice large suite to get their hair and makeup done by Style North. The gentlemen played a bit of golf and met at another suite to get prepared.

I spent time with the ladies getting ready and then made time for the gentlemen for some individual and group images.

The wedding would take place at Molly’s parents lake house on Central Lake in Bellaire, Michigan. Central Lake is just a beautiful multi-purpose lake. They have a beautiful view of the lake with old growth trees in the yard and a nice lush, green lawn with a brick path leading to the dock and brick patio area.

The wedding would take place right before the dock on the brick patio. After all the guests had been seated and handed a program fan the gentlemen found their way to the front and the ladies walked one by one up the isle. Molly was escorted by her father as the guests stood.

A year earlier I had captured their friend’s wedding at the Perry Hotel in Petoskey, Michigan. They were in the crowd smiling too.

The day went off without a hitch and it could not have been nicer. The sun beamed down all day long and the sunset at Shanty Creek Resort was to die for. Molly and Ryan were so pleased with everything and couldn’t thank the vendors enough for their services.

Molly and Ryan’s theme was Summer in Northern Michigan. Their wedding colors were navy and green. They danced their first dance to “Everything” by Michael Buble. Molly wore Enzoani for her wedding dress gown.
