Walloon Lake Sunny Day Family Photography
Summertime in Northern Michigan looks like blue skies and turquoise water for most people. People come to Northern Michigan with family to enjoy their time and be with family and friends. This Sunny day Walloon Lake Family Photography was one of my most challenging shoots of the year.
The scene is Walloon Lake private residence with harsh sunny backlight hitting the lake. We are on the deck with four families trying to light them all and bring down the incredibly bright reflections and light off of Walloon Lake.
The client had to have Walloon Lake in the background for the images. I suggested that we turn around and have front lighting on their face but they wanted the lake behind them.
The post editing on these images was anything but easy. What I did was underexpose the images and then bring up the images in Photoshop after the shoot. It was a tough edit which I was not used to doing.
Not all photography shoots are the same. When clients want a specific shoot I do my best to accommodate. The easy answer would have been to have them look out at the lake, or shoot at sunset. Neither were an option for the client.
Here are a few images from this Sunny day Walloon Lake Family Photography on the 3rd of July.
