Mackinac Bridge Engagement Photography

The Mackinac Bridge and Old Mackinaw Point Lighthouse in Mackinaw City, Michigan on a windless day. This couple from Tennessee wanted to mark their Engagement with images from childhood, and of course, the beauty of Up North. Funny story, Eve is afraid of birds. One of the images that I ask them for is of them scaring the birds off of the shoreline. I wasn’t aware until after she is ducking and trying to hide that she is deathly afraid of birds. 🙂 Sorry about that Eve!

We take a stroll along Lake Huron shoreline and make gorgeous, soft images together.

The light is amazing at 9am in the morning.

I love the textures, compositions, and structures of this Mackinaw City Michigan Engagement Photography Mackinac Bridge.

The soft nature of the images without blowing out the details in the background is what I love doing.

My use of off-camera lighting helped in many of these images bring in the beauty of the Mackinac Bridge. Without using external lighting this is not possible with this light.

Northern Michigan Engagement

After Mackinac Bridge images, we head to a wild area nearby. It is actually a compost area where people bring wood and compost to recycle in the woods.

The floral bloom along the power line is gorgeous!

The sun is higher making the light harsher. I use my knowledge of the light to compose the last series of images in full light.

We want to get a nice drone image so I have them lay on their backs on a blanket. The drone is positioned over their head pointing down and I move them to accommodate light. What a beauty!

In the end, this Mackinaw City, Michigan session is the most dynamic Engagement of the year.
