Mackinac Bridge wedding Mackinaw City lighthouse
Sometimes couples are not interested in large, elaborate weddings and choose to have an intimate wedding in a cool location like Mackinaw City Lighthouse. You can’t beat the view of the Mackinac Bridge and the Mackinac straits in Northern Michigan. This is a wonderful elopement location close to Mackinac Island with a lot less of the cost. Make your honeymoon on Mackinac after getting married in Mackinaw City.
To set the story straight, Mackinac Island, Mackinac Bridge, and the Straits of Mackinac are all spelled the same. Mackinaw City is spelled with a w at the end. I have been told this is so that the post office would not confuse the delivery of the mail. If you do not want to make the locals mad then please spell the names correctly.
Tiffany and Rick are from the upper peninsula of Michigan. They love Hawaii, although they have never been there. Their guests wore Hawaiian shirts and leis to their Hawaiian themed wedding.
It was a small, intimate wedding in the late afternoon before heading to the St. Ignace Kewadin casino for dinner with all their guests and family. Most of the images we captured were group shots with the family and friends. We literally took a 5 minute walk to capture these few images. Here are some images from the short time I spent with Tiffany and Rick at the Mackinaw City Lighthouse overlooking the Mackinac Bridge.
