How about a Winery? That was the cocktail hour.

A lodge in the heart of leland with cool cabins? That is where they stayed and prepared for the day.

How about a historic fishing village? Fishtown was part of the day too.

Boys out fishing in the morning on Lake Michigan? Yes

Bride wearing sandals? Yes

Bride and Groom golfing images? Check

Chinese lanterns (wish lanterns) with everyone? Yes

String quartet playing at Wedding, Cocktail hour, and Dinner? Yes

Crazy entertaining dueling pianos? Check

Father singing at your Wedding? Yes

First look complete with kind words written to each other on the Leland River? Yes

Bride sewing patches on Father and Groom’s ties? Yes

Ice cream from their favorite creamery Mooville with a cupcake side? Yes

Beautiful sunset and twilight? Of course

Linnea and Parker currently live in North Carolina. They planned this Wedding from afar with a couple trips to speak with local people. They had lots of family and friend help in putting this all together. They love Leland and the historic fishtown. Their thoughts were to bring out the beauty of the area and offer that to their guests. It was a grand event that felt like Northern Michigan to me.

Linnea started the day getting ready in the 3 bedroom cabin at Leland Lodge with her bridesmaid and family. The cabin makes a perfect bridal suite with a back screened deck area, front screened deck, and open room inside the cabin. It was a great staging area for the day.

They had purchased flowers from Fifty Flowers. They family put the arrangements and bouquets together in the screened porch area. They were beautiful!

Other special touches included wine on each reception table that the Bride and Groom personally make at their house. I actually had a taste and I would have bought a bottle of it. Very tasty! The Bride’s sister framed the invitation in a burlap backed frame that was really cool. Local microbrews and wines were utilized. They had a large wood board with their initials for their guest book. Mason jar mugs for each guests drinks and favors. Inside the Wedding ceremony programs there was a tissue. 🙂 There was a banner in the front of the church that was made specifically for Linnea and Parker with their names on it. The centerpieces on the tables were all made by the family with sections of a tree for the base. And the list goes on…

The Wedding was located at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, which is one block from the Leland Lodge. The guests mostly walked to the church. Following the beautiful Wedding ceremony; which included two songs sung by Linnea’s father, a string quartet, another beautiful singer, and lots of tears; guests headed to 45 North Winery and Vineyard for cocktail hour and a half. Well, it was supposed to be an hour but ended up being more.:-) Too much fun!

The Wedding reception was back at the Leland Lodge and included the string quarter from Grand Valley State University playing through dinner and the dueling pianos from Rusch Entertainment closing out the evening.

There was a first dance, father/daughter dance, mother/son dance and a bouquet toss.

The sun set behind a cloud bank but the twilight images were awesome. The sun lit the clouds up and we took advantage of the options.

Uponing arriving to the Leland Lodge, we captured some backlit golf images with their clubs while they hit a few balls onto the golf course. The balls all had their emblem on it too.

The guests were all invited outside to light a wish lantern for the couple. They had a whole stack of them. When they started going there was no less than a dozen in view at a time. Pretty awesome!

Without a true Wedding Planner, they did it all with style and fashion. I can’t imagine the amount of time that everyone spent putting into this event. It REALLY showed!

I hope that the images bring out the beauty of the day and the hours and hours of time spent preparing for this wonderful marriage.
