Liquid sunshine wedding Castle Farms
Stephanie and Dave had big plans of having their beach Wedding in Northern Michigan. When the day turned rainy, those plans were quickly thrown out and all of the guests were texted, emailed, and called to relocate the Wedding ceremony to Castle Farms. The Liquid sunshine Wedding Castle Farms was spectacular!
Stephanie loved planning her Wedding, her way. She took pride in contacting each Wedding vendor and questioning their professionalism and match for her.
Everything could be planned out except the weather. The weather was showing rain for her day the entire week. It was overcast in the morning and the rains started around brunch time.
Stephanie sprang into action and canceled her sunset beach location on Lake Michigan. She called Castle Farms and they accommodated her in the outdoor pavilion at Castle Farms. As it turned out, this was the perfect place for this day, and this Wedding.
The staff was very accommodating and willing to bend a little to make Stephanie and Dave’s Wedding memorable to everyone.
It didn’t just rain a little, it poured for hours. Liquid sunshine wedding castle farms was beginning to look like a flood. There was water building up in locations, coming in the doors, and it felt like we were in a tropical rainforest.
And then the skies parted, just for a half hour prior to sunset. The blue sky came out and we were able to walk around the castle and make gorgeous images.
It was Stephanie’s dream that had come true.
The rains made amazing reflections that we incorporated into lots of the images. Everything had that glossy look. Just beautiful!
The ladies started getting ready early with hair and makeup at Edgewater Inn hotel. This is the perfect location for your Castle Farms Wedding since it is a short distance to Castle Farms. It is also right downtown Charlevoix!
Stephanie wore this incredible wedding gown from Piera’s Bridal Couture in Shelby Township. When I say she looked amazing, I think it was an understatement. I think that Dave can attest, she was perfect. The dress was made for her.
The flowers by Monarch Garden and Floral were aromatic, lively, and very happy to see the rain. 🙂 William is an amazing florist and he never disappoints. The yellow, pinks, and white color palette was fitting for the day. They made the foreboding and dramatic skies pop with contrast. Thank you William!
Paul from the Mackinaw Trolley Company is always a favorite of mine. He is such a nice guy. He will bend over backwards for you too. He has a smile on his face and he is always willing to serve. He worked extra hard on this day keeping everyone dry. Paul has a huge golf umbrella that he positioned to always make sure everyone was comfortable. We used the Mackinaw Trolley Company to drive around the Castle with the Wedding party to capture photography. This way everyone was dry and we could jump in and out. It worked great!
Talulu Beauty Lounge sent out two stylists to work the hair for the day. They are efficient and effective. The girls all loved their hair. No problems during the day and they ran on time. Great job ladies!
Muscles and Mascara by Rachel was onsite for the makeup. Rachel does a wonderful job with her traveling makeup company. She worked hard to get everyone done on time and looking their best. Rachel listens to what her clients want and make them look even more stunning.
The cake got inhaled. This is my guide to what bakers are the best. Simply Sweet by Jessica with my friend, Jessica Stubbs, always bakes cakes that get completely eaten. You just don’t see and left over cake at the end of the night. This is the ultimate scale for deliciousness. Simply Sweet by Jessica is on top of their game and I love eating a piece, or two, of their cakes. Stephanies’s cake was elegant, simple, and off course mouth watering. Great job Simply Sweet by Jessica!
The Wedding DJ was by Rusch Entertainment and AxCel Sounds with Bill Conn. Bill was formerly with Sound Productions and has moved to AxCel Sounds. Bill did a wonderful job with the reception. The Bride and Groom adored him. He got the dance floor moving and kept it there for the entire evening. I had no problems making gorgeous dance images with this crowd. Thank you Bill!
The photographer for the day was me, Paul Retherford Photography. I had to adapt quickly to the changing weather patterns all day long. Knowing where to hide and photograph images was definitely a bonus. We made such gorgeous images. They are even better than if we had a perfect sunny day. They will remember this day, not only for the Wedding, but also the wild weather patterns and challenges that they overcame.
Congratulations Stephanie and Dave! You made it smiling through this Wedding day. The rest of your life should be a piece of cake. Hopefully, that cake is from Simply Sweet by Jessica. Cheers!
