Knights Castle Wedding Castle Farms
The plan was to have a first look early at Castle Farms, visit the downtown Charlevoix and beach areas, shoot all of the family images and party like rockstars. As you know, plans change quickly. This Knights Castle Wedding Castle Farms was no different.
Just after noon the clouds rolled in and the rains came down, hard. Katie and Steve waited to the last minute possible to make their decision whether the Wedding be inside or outside. I could tell by Katie’s demeanor, it was going to be outside even if they were the only two present.
One of the wonderful things about Castle Farms is that there are so many indoor locations. Even if you have pouring rain, you can have a wonderful ceremony and reception.
This year has been an incredibly wet on the summer Saturday’s. I have had multiple Weddings changed locations due to rain. You never know, and keeping an open mind and seeing the positives is the key to a successful day.
Katie and Steve rented houses on Lake Charlevoix a five minute drive away. They were beautiful and had plenty of room.
Mackinaw Trolley Company was hired to transport everyone from the houses to Castle Farms. Mackinaw Trolley Company always offers professional, and personal, service.
Thyme Hill Designs worked hard during the day to make sure everything was looking amazing. With the rains passing, they were present to make sure that everything was perfect for Katie and Steve.
The Wedding Ceremony was in the Knights Courtyard. The Wedding Reception was in the Knights Castle. Charlevoix Wedding Pastor Johnathan did a wonderful job marrying them.
It was literally raining just minutes before the ceremony. Everyone was scrambling to get umbrellas, dry seats off, and make sure equipment was safe from the water.
As soon as the ceremony began, the rains parted. They held off until about 30 minutes after the ceremonies end.
Charlevoix Wedding Pastor was wonderful again. DJ Scott from Rousseau Events worked really hard to make sure the music was functioning, all why trying to keep his equipment dry.
Since we had a first look prior to the Wedding, we were able to capture the majority of the images. The only images that remained were the large family images. We took a nice walk around Castle Farms just prior to the storms starting again. As we got back to the Knights Castle, the pouring rain returned.
What is great about this type of day is the lighting is incredible. You get so many different tones, cloud formations, and beautiful depth in the images. Everyone wants the sunny day, but for photography, days like this are wonderful.
The entrances into the reception were a lot of fun. The bridal party was great. They all loved to dance, drink, and have a great time.
Grey Gables put together a delicious dinner complete with steak and chicken. The guests loved it!
The cake cutting took place after dinner. The moist, incredibly tasty cakes of Simply Sweet by Jessica were in the house. She set up a whole eight foot table spread that included cake, cupcakes, macaroons, and cookies. Everything was so awesome! The guests just grazed all night long.
Thank you to my second Photographer Kris for his hard work.
