mackinac island mission point resort gazebo
You ever dream about a destination wedding in some remote location of the World? Have you thought about who would come and who wouldn’t be able to make the trip?
Mackinac Island in Northern Michigan is just like your dream But your friends can make the trip because there are so many options for accommodations, pricing, etc. If you have friends or family that don’t get around too well Mackinac Island will work for them too. The island is fully serviced by horse carriages that can transport anyone to their destination.
If your family or friends cannot afford to stay on the island, there are inexpensive accommodations in Mackinaw City and St. Ignace, a fifteen minute ferry trip away. The ferries run as late as 11pm in during the busy summer season too.
Angel and Mike invited friends from all over. Some of their friends enjoyed Mackinac Island and partied all night, while others caught a ferry back to the mainland in the late evening. Both situations worked for all of the family and friends.
The wedding location was at Mission Point Resort on Mackinac Island in the gazebo on the lawn. The gazebo is just gorgeous with flowers rimming the ceremony location and views of the lake and the resort. The Great Lakes breeze blowing your face and birds are plentiful too.
You can personalize the gazebo to your liking with flowers and such. Most brides and grooms like to get married on the ground in front of the gazebo. Some decide that inside the gazebo is their place. Both locations work, however, the best location for photography is outside the gazebo so that you can capture the beautiful environment, gazebo, and wedding couple.
Anjel used the 7th heaven salon at Mission Point Resort for her hair. The wedding suite at Mission Point was the location for her preparation and getting into her dress. The suite allows you to walk right out to a beautiful lawn and patio overlooking the main lodge at the resort and Lake Huron in the distance. It is also a short walk to the gazebo on the lawn.
Mike and the boys were watching the Ohio State football game in the Round Island Bar before heading up to their room to jump in their tuxedos. This wedding had a huge Ohio State following.
The bride wore Augusta Jones bridal gown for her Mission Point outdoor destination wedding. The wedding colors were apple red and chocolate brown. The wedding theme was fall. The bride and groom danced their first dance to Bless the Broken Road by Rascal Flats.
The day was beautiful, as it always is, on Mackinac Island, Michigan and especially my weddings!:-)
