Mackinac Island Wedding Photography
There is so much I love about this Wedding day that I won’t be able to put it all together in this post. I met Sandra and David long before this Wedding day. We became friends, photographed their Engagement on Mackinac Island together, and talked a lot about their big day. Mission Point Resort Mackinac Island Summer Wedding Sandra David by Paul Retherford Photography.
When I arrive on Mackinac Island it is hot, blue sky with those white puffy clouds, and a picture-perfect day on the island.
Upon arriving at Mission Point Resort I text Sandra to see where the ladies are located.
Sandra is in the Lakeside Salon and Spa at Mission Point Resort with her ladies.
David is preparing for the first look that will be coming soon in the Bois Blanc Suite. He is wearing a Generation Tux and Brooks Brother shirt and tie.
The Stella York dress is absolutely stunning! It was made for Sandra. All of the bridesmaids are wearing Bill Levkoff dresses. The colors are perfect. Wedding colors are cornflower blue.
In addition, the florals for Margaret’s Garden are amazing. They really take pride in their arrangements and it shows. I can say that I have never had a Bride dissatisfied with Margaret’s Garden flowers.
Mission Point Resort Tranquility Suite is the bridal suite for the Wedding. This suite overlooks the lake, has a walkout, patio to a floral garden and large grass area.
It is the perfect location for a first look! You can not have it easier than this at your Wedding.
Following the funny, only because David is always cracking jokes, and tearful, because Sandra and David are cryers, first look, Gough Wedding Carriages show up to whisp them away for a magical ride around the island. I follow on my bike and we make incredible images in the one hour cruise.
The reason for the carriage prior to the Wedding is so the Bride and Groom may enjoy cocktail hour with their guests. They have friends coming from long distances and they want to maximize time with their friends.
After arriving back at Mission Point, Sandra touches up before walking down the aisle, and David heads to the Mission Point gazebo where the Wedding is located.
The weather is still amazing with blue skies and puffy, white clouds. You can not script it better.
The couples friend, Rabbi Daniel, is the officiant for the Wedding ceremony at Mission Point Resort.
Even though it is not a Jewish Wedding, they want their good friend to marry them.
The Bride and Groom are both sign language interpreters. Their good friend, Miriam, interpretes the Wedding ceremony for their family and friends. I know nothing about this other than it is really cool to watch a group of sign language interpreters together. A first for me at a Wedding.
Their son plays the ukulele and sings at both the Wedding ceremony and reception. Awesome!
Following the amazing ceremony, the family gets together for some quick images before enjoying cocktail hour.
The storms don’t move in until after everyone is indoors and enjoying dinner time!
You can not ask for a better mix of weather patterns for a Wedding day. We have sun, puffy clouds, clear skies, a bit of overcast, then rain, lots of rainbows, and the reflections are amazing!
Nick Kuhl and the gang rock the house with their live band and energy. So good!
Starline ferry is transportation to and from Mackinac Island for the Wedding.
The couple dance to “Only Us” from Dear Evan Hansen.
Oh, and the rainbows that kept showing up time and again until sunset. Holy smokes! They are beyond words.
We are so lucky to be blessed with the beauty from this day.
Everything about this Wedding gives me goose bumps.
Sandra, David, and family deserve all of this amazing day.
