Isla Mujeres, Mexico Photography
We arrived yesterday on the island of Isla Mujeres around Noon. Our flight came into Cancun at 9:30 am then it took 1.5 hours to get through immigration and customs. It all went rather smoothly. My bags were only searched once and that was quick and easy. It is always nice traveling with an infant because you get priority.
The Cancun airport was crazy. Everyone is trying to sell you something there. I just told my wife to follow me and we walked quickly outside to our transportation. Side not, Warning to travelers, don’t buy refreshments outside the airport if you don’t need. We got a water and it was $4.50 American. We could have bought over a case at the store for that! AGI was our transportation and they were good. They were waiting with my name on a board. We had to wait for other people who were supposedly arriving and never did? Kind of strange since we had booked the transportation through the hotel during reservations.
The ferry ride is nice. Since we had booked transportation as a package we were given passes for the ferry. There is an upstairs and enclosed section. The upstairs was full so we sat down and it was nice. 15 minutes and very beautiful ride. Upon arriving at Isla Mujeres you are greeted with a bunch of other “tour guides” and “porters” and “friends.” They all want your business. We knew that someone would be waiting and they were in the AGI shirt. It was nice to have someone looking out for us. The taxi took us to our room where we had to wait a couple hours to check in.
When we got our key we were welcomed with this glorious site.
We are touring the island via golf cart today. Here are a few more images from yesterday. Enjoy Isla Mujeres!
