Ste Anne’s Church Community Hall Wedding
Mackinac Island do it yourself wedding planning in Northern Michigan by Sara and Jason from Chicago, Illinois. Sara and Jason wanted a wedding on Mackinac Island but they wanted to be in control and make all the decisions for their day. They had multiple trips up to Mackinac Island to speak with people and find the perfect location for their wedding venue.
In the end, there was a bit of stress, but everything ran smooth the day of the wedding. It was a beautiful, warm day in Northern Michigan on Mackinac Island too.
Sara is a Hollywood stunt double. Jason is a musician. The two messed their interests together by fusing what they love in a beautiful destination wedding location on Mackinac Island, Northern Michigan.
Sara got her hair done at 7th heaven salon on Mackinac Island, Michigan. They blocked off rooms at the Windermere Hotel on Mackinac Island. I met Sara on her wedding day after she rode on the back of a bike with her maid of honor from the salon. Windermere is right downtown on Mackinac Island conveniently located to all shopping, restaurants, and most of the wedding locations too.
The wedding ceremony location was Ste. Anne’s Church which is a Catholic Church on Mackinac Island. Most family and guests arrived by foot and horse drawn carriage. Ste. Anne’s Church lies less than one mile from the ferry docks.
Following the wedding the bride and groom had arranged horse drawn carriages for the wedding party to travel around Mackinac Island from Gough Livery, while the wedding guests either walked or took the horse drawn taxis from Mackinac Island Carriage tours to the wedding reception. Cocktail hour would start immediately outside the Community Hall on Mackinac Island. They have a nice lawn where the cocktail hour was under a tent.
The wedding reception took place at the Mackinac Island Community Hall. Side note, I understand the Mackinac Island Community Hall had it’s floor refinished this winter too! Sara and Jason took movie posters and Jason photoshopped their faces into the characters on the posters. It was pretty funny. They used these movie posters to hang at their cocktail hour and also for their centerpieces. Great way to personalize their wedding day.
The Mackinac Island wedding flowers were completed by Weber’s floral and design. They did a wonderful job in all of the flowers. The bride and groom were both happy with the final results.
