Grand Hotel Mackinac Island Wedding Photography | Northern Michigan | Sara and Kevin

Wedding Northern Michigan destination

There is a destination wedding jewel in Northern Michigan.  People from all over the World take advantage of this wedding location because of the charm, professionalism, and ease.  Mackinac Island weddings at the Grand Hotel are everything that you picture in your fairy tale wedding.

Sara and Kevin traveled from Philadelphia to get married on beautiful Mackinac Island.  Mackinac Island does not allow motorized vehicles.  All transportation is via horse carriage, bike, and walking!  Take a step back in time, and a step way back in speed and enjoy your wedding day on Mackinac Island and the Grand Hotel.

The rehearsal dinner was on the patio at Mission Point Resort.   They chose this location to have a variety of views, memories, and a beautiful outdoor location on the water of Lake Huron.

Sara and Kevin decided to have a first look prior to their wedding ceremony in the tea garden at the Grand Hotel.  We set up the first look in the herb garden at the west end of the Grand Hotel porch where it was quiet and private.  The wedding party all came out on the porch to watch from afar as I shot from a distance away to capture their first expressions.  Kevin’s face was classic when he say his bride!

The family images were next on the west porch of the Grand Hotel with bride and groom and wedding party images shortly following on the porch, and then on the carriage tour around Mackinac Island.  It was a bluebird day in Northern Michigan.

Sara and Kevin’s wedding colors were black and white.  They went with a Mackinac Island theme.  They didn’t have a first dance song picked out so DJ Brevin picked a nice one for them.

The wedding ceremony location was in the tea garden at the Grand Hotel and the wedding reception was in the Grand Pavilion at the Grand Hotel.  After 6pm you are required to wear a tie and jacket for the guys and a dress for the women at the Grand Hotel.  You usually do not see anyone not dressed in the evening at the Grand Hotel.
