Florida destination Wedding location Anna Maria Island
Our daughter was almost three months old. My wife was on maternity leave until mid December. It was the perfect time to plan a trip from Michigan to the warmer South.
I have always heard of the beautiful destination Wedding location of Anna Maria Island in Florida.
Since we normally plan a Thanksgiving weekend with the in laws, we decided that we would head to Atlanta, Georgia to meet for the Holiday at my sister in laws home.
After the Thanksgiving dinner we packed our bags to head down to Anna Maria Island at Holmes beach for a week rental through VRBO.
The rental turned out to be a perfect location for our family, close to the beach, shopping, activities, and more. The house was sufficient and the pool and spa were nice for the kids. The ocean during late November was a bit chilly. Wouldn’t be bad with a wet suit or rash guard. The pool was 80 and the hot tub was 100. 🙂
Our family would love to come back to Florida during my Wedding Photography off season from November to early May. I am available most weekends and you would not believe that my investments are so cost effective. Get a Wedding Photographer that wants to be at your Wedding and images that will document your day using lots of off camera lighting setups. You are more beautiful than you think, and I will prove that.
I have a few recommendations for you with food. First of all, there are a ton of varying reviews from all locations. What we learned from the locals is to find the freshest seafood that is catch and brought to shore immediately. With that said, Captain Anthony’s in Anna Maria has awesome stone crab, red snapper, grouper, and ceviche you will die for. Star fish Company has TONS of fresh fish which I had fresh tuna that I grilled for cheap. Lastly, the Island Fresh Market in Holmes Beach has shrimp that they will steam for you. They are awesome! We had them plain but you can get all sorts of seasonings with them too. Lastly, try Ocean Star sushi from the Galati marina location in Anna Maria for fresh sushi. We ordered take out with 7 rolls for around $42. Very reasonable.
Here are a collection of images from our beautiful vacation on Anna Maria Island in Florida in late November/early December 2014.
