Congratulations Arianna and Matt on one year of Marriage and Bliss! You two are a beautiful couple and it was fun spending some time with you on Mackinac Island, Michigan making fabulous Anniversary images for you. I know how magical Mackinac Island is for your and I hope that these images really place you in that magical place every time you view them. Thank you for being so easy to work with and just plain fun!

Arianna and Matt hired a Wedding Carriage from Arrowhead Carriages on Mackinac Island. The horse drawn Wedding Carriage was led by two ex racing horses. Let me tell you, they were fast! I had a tough time keeping up with them on my bike.:-) John, the driver, was really easy to work with and I thank him for making everything we wanted fit into the time frame. He is very professional and knowledgable about the island. I definitely recommend this carriage company. You can call them at 906.847.6112.

We spent one hour traveling around Mackinac Island, Michigan capturing images along the way. When Arrowhead Carriage Company dropped the couple off at Mission Point Resort, where they were staying, we made a bunch more images for about 1/2 hour. It was a beautiful couple and a fabulous day!

Boyne Mountain Resort and Spa Destination Wedding Northern Michigan Weddings

Destination Wedding Northern Michigan ~ Boyne Mountain Resort and Spa Wedding

Congratulations to Nicole and Bill, and their beautiful family and friends! It was a glorious day filled with lots of laughter and happy tears.

The weatherperson was calling for the weather to clear at noon and for the Wedding day to be free of rain. For once they were right. The call was made around noon to have the Wedding outdoors at Boyne Mountain Beach House right on the water. It would turn out to be a perfect call and I am very happy that the Wedding ceremony remained outdoors.

Boyne Mountain Resort and Spa is beautiful, and the only way to have a Wedding there is to have it within the natural beauty. Everything was so green and lush because of the two days of rains. It was perfect.

We didn’t have a lot of time to make images after the Wedding but I think that we did a fantastic job with the short time that we had available. The wiffle ball game behind the Grand Lodge Wedding reception was really cool, fun, and unique too.

In all, I made over 3500 images on Nicole and Bill’s Wedding day. The Wedding Ceremony was at 4pm and the Wedding Reception began at 5:30pm. Boyne Mountain is a wonderful location and I highly recommend it to all brides and grooms for your Northern Michigan Destination Wedding.

The vendors for the day were, of course me, Paul Retherford Wedding Photography; DJ was Joe Ostervik with Mobile Rhythm DJ Service; Flowers by Kathy Beamer of KSB Design; Wedding Coordinator at Boyne is Kristina.

Love is in the air in Northern Michigan ~ Cassie and Mike Married!

Northern Michigan Wedding ~ St. Ignace, Michigan

A fabulous Northern Michigan Wedding indeed, the unity of Cassie and Mike in St. Ignace, Michigan. What a beautiful warm day in North Michigan on Lake Huron with a nice welcome breeze coming off of the lake. The water was sparkling and the bride and groom’s faces were gorgeous. They are such a wonderful couple with a lot of personality and beauty.

The parents of the bride surprised the couple with a rented Model T and driver/owner Les Nyland. They saw the fabulous auto at the Rudyard car show and asked Les if he would be interested in driving the bride and groom around town after the Wedding Ceremony. Les was honored and it made a perfect addition to our awesome day! Thank you Les for being so easy going and willing to allow us full use of your beautiful 1915 Model T.

The flowers were by Webers in St. Ignace and they were perfect. Sammys Mobile DJ Service from Engadine, Michigan did the DJing for the evening. The Wedding colors were royal blue and white. The first dance song was Love of My Life by Sammy Kershaw.
