Bridal show in Alpena, Michigan Wedding Event 2009

The Wedding Event 2009 at the Thunder Bay Rec Center is shaping up to be the best ever! There is a very large prize being given away with donations coming from Wedding Vendors. The bridal show is free to attendants and you should come if you are planning on getting married in the next five years. Meet Northeast Michigan Vendors from the area and just be nosey.

Come to my table and chat for a while, eat some candy, and chat some more. Life is good.:-)

Glitz and Glamour Bridal from Alpena, Amanda Stewart Floral Designs, and WATZ, Alpena radio station, are co-sponsors for The Wedding Event 2009.

The Bridal show starts at 11:30am and goes until 4pm. There is a bridal fashion show at 3:45.

Wedding Photography Workshop in Michigan

Back2Back Photography Workshop was a two day instructional workshop for photographers of all types. Most of the attendees were Wedding Photographers in Michigan. Jason Aten Photography and Jackie Palmer from Canfield Jenkins House of Photography hosted the workshop.

The first day covered budgets, contracts, branding, websites, goals, and much more. The second day covered telling a story through albums, lighting, and live shoots.

The combination of the two days really brought together a large part of the photography industry whether you are a Wedding or a Portrait photographer.

I attended the photography workshop hoping to grasp a few new concepts and ideas and I came away with a bunch of refreshing ideas. It was well worth the money and time spent. The models from the second day photography shoot were two of Jason Aten’s clients Jason and Abbie.

Mackinac Island Trash the Dress Session

On my Birthday, Saturday, I traveled to Mackinac Island for a Trash the Dress, Anniversary Session, with Kelli and Nate. They traveled up from down state for a weekend away on the island. I am so glad that they booked a session with me, you will see why shortly.

We scheduled the session for 10am so that we could catch some morning light and also I could make it to Traverse City for my B-day. Worked out perfect for both of us. In fact, Kelli and Nate took the same time ferry over to the island as me, and she was getting into her dress at the hotel when I arrived.

Mackinac Island Carriage Ride ~ Tour

Kelli and Nate hired a Carriage Ride on Mackinac Island with Mackinac Island Carriage Tours. The driver was Tabby and she was very nice and accommodating. This is a nice way to see the island and get fabulous images all over the place.

Kelli and Nate are a beautiful couple and they photograph very well. Kelli wore her Wedding dress and Nate wore casual attire. It was a cold, just ask Kelli’s teeth, but we used some warm blankets and adrenaline to keep with the fabulous images. Of course the sun came out as I was stepping on the ferry.

This was my last Photography Session of the year and I spent some extra time to make sure I went out with fabulous, fabulous images! I think that I succeeded, what do you think?
