Elberta Historic Life Saving Station Wedding | West Michigan | Lake Michigan

Wedding Historic Elberta Life Saving Station

Congratulations Shelly and Mike!  The perfect Wedding of Shelly and Mike at the Elberta Life Saving Station on Betsie Lake which runs into Lake Michigan. Lake Michigan is within site of the Wedding Ceremony and Wedding Reception location.  If you are looking for a West Michigan Wedding location you should give this beautiful location a visit.  This was an old Coast Guard building that was restored and sits right on the water.  It makes for a wonderful Wedding in perfect or inclement weather too.  The doors are all unique and the goose neck lights are fantastic.  They just refinished the wood floors again this year so the sheen is impressive.

In memory of Shelly’s mom she tossed a rose wreath into Betsie Lake in front of the Elberta Life Saving Station with the Wedding guests watching.  It was a special moment.

The Wedding Ceremony and Reception were both Held at the Elberta Life Saving Station.  It was an intimate Wedding with time between the Ceremony and Reception so we did a little photo shoot inbetween.  We spent some time on the Elberta Lake Michigan beach, the Frankfort Lake Michigan beach, the Betsie Point Lighthouse, and a few other quick stops.  It was fun and the weather was fantastic too.

    Cute

Wilderness State Park and The Headlands day trip

    photo of cute raccoon

Sunday we took a cruise to lower Michigan and checked out The Headlands and Wilderness State Park.  Both places I have never seen.  Both places are really cool.  The shoreline along the Northwest of lower Michigan is unique.

The Headlands | Wedding Location in Northern Michigan

If you are looking for a Wedding location in Northern Michigan and you would like a natural shoreline Wedding location that you can plan your own vendors check out the Destination Wedding location at The Headlands run by Emmet County.  This location is very nice and has indoor and outdoor locations for Weddings Ceremonies and Receptions.  There are a lot of areas around that you can get to the water and capture images with the Mackinac Bridge in the background and the beautiful Lake Michigan shoreline.  The mix of trees and water makes for pleasing images on your Wedding day.  Contact Emmet County for Wedding rental information:

Emmet County Parks & Recreation – The Headlands
    7725 E. Wilderness Park Drive
    Mackinaw City, MI 49701
    (231) 436-4051
Wilderness State Park is a fantastic location for camping, biking, hiking, exploring, fishing, and more.  You get a beautiful view of the Mackinac Bridge from a distance and the camping is right on Lake Michigan.  They also have rustic cabins for rent.  A beautiful location for the family!
