Wearing Military uniform to Wedding?

First of all, if you are reading this you probably are part of the Military or, at least, know of someone who is in the Military so Thank You. Your service allows me to do what I enjoy and I truly appreciate it.

I have been asked by brides and grooms if wearing Military uniforms to Weddings is appropriate. I believe that it is not only appropriate but it honors the individual and lets people acknowledge our freedoms that we take for granted so often. Whether you are the bride or groom, in the Wedding party, or just a guest of the Wedding, I believe that you should wear your Military uniform. I have had lots of people who wear their uniform and a lot who don’t too. It is a matter of personal preference. As a bride and groom, I would hope that you would allow this at your Wedding.

What are the advantages to wearing your Military uniform?

-It saves you the cost of a tuxedo, suit, or dress.

-It puts things into perspective for the guests; with celebration there is sacrifice.

-Strikes a conversation with people.

What are some disadvantages of wearing your Military uniform?

-It takes attention away from the bride and groom.

-It may not be dressy enough for the occasion.

-You may not want people to know that you are serving.

These are just a few of the advantages and disadvantages of wearing your Military uniform to Weddings.

Don’t be afraid to wear your Military uniform to Weddings if you have an outfit that will fit the occasion. Be proud of who you are and know that everyone there will love to chat and thank you for your service.

Plan your Wedding seating chart strategically

Wedding planning seating chart ideas

Most couples will look at placing friends and family together at the Wedding reception but don’t forget to think about what you are going to look at the rest of your life, the Wedding album. Who do you want in the backgrounds of your images during your introduction, speeches, dancing, etc. Your Wedding album and video are going to be your memories from your Wedding day. You may love your friends but do you want them in your Wedding album all the time being crazy in the background?

Reception locations are all set up differently. When you visit yours find out where the head table is located. Then find the location of the dance floor and bar. Hopefully there is some separation between the dance floor and the bar. This way you can keep the alcohol off of the dance floor, usually a good idea. Remember that your family is great to have by the head table BUT consider having them seated next to the dance floor so that they are in the main event images.

Are you having a Wedding Planner? If so, this is probably something that you need to do yourself since your planner, most likely, does not know all of your Wedding guests.

The decisions you make in your Wedding reception seating chart will show in your Wedding album. Plan ahead and you will get the results that you are looking for in your Wedding album.

What a beautiful Wedding on the porch at the Grand Hotel during the Somewhere in Time weekend. Sally and Jim traveled all the way from California to elope during the Somewhere in Time weekend. As it turned out, Jane Seymour would not attend their Wedding but Katie Flynn, her daughter, would be in the audience.
