What should you consider when planning your Wedding date?

Ideas for Wedding date | things to consider

How do  you pick a Wedding date?  Is it just a flip of the coin?  Do you plan around vacation time?  Do you look at historical weather data for your date?  Maybe the numbers of the actual date matter.

what wedding date should you choose photo

However you decide your Wedding date here are a few things to keep in mind when planning.

1) Season and weather: The weather can vary hugely from season to season in any area of the World.  Even in a particular season you can have a variety of weather patterns caused from mother natures wrath.  It can be hot, cold, wet, dry, windy, bright, humid, etc.  Are you plans taking into account the season and the possible weather?

2) Holidays: Some people like to plan Weddings around Holidays.  This may work great for the bride and groom but not so wonderful for the family and guests who may have traditional plans or vacations already planned.  Expecting your family and guests to give up their Holiday season for your Wedding may be a lot of ask.  Keep in mind that some people make plans way in advance and inviting them when they have previous plans might upset them.

3) Weekday Weddings: Weddings from Sunday through Friday can be much cheaper than a Saturday event.  The flip side of the deal is that your family and guests have to take, at least, the day off to come to your Wedding Ceremony and Reception.  You can usually get the best vendors for these days since they haven’t already booked but…

4) Lucky numbers: Are you superstitious?  Should you be?  Maybe you want your Wedding date on a date that stands for luck and a lifetime of love.  Maybe you just don’t give a rip.  Some of my brides have commented that they chose their date so that their husband could remember the anniversary date.  Yikes!

5) Mock another date: Have you thought about marrying the one on the same date that you parents married?  I get this option a lot.  It is really an honor to your parents to book your Wedding on the same date.  This way they get to relive their Wedding night while your celebrate your own.  It doesn’t have to be your parents.  It could be a friends date or a sibling or a super star.  You pick.

The bottom line is that there are options to planning a Wedding date that you should think about before putting something in stone.
