On March 15, 2007 Monte Zucker died from pancreatic cancer. Monte is a true Photography Hero and will be placed in the league of the great landscape photographer Ansel Adams. His work and inspiration have had such a significant impact on so many lives.
I had the opportunity to see Monte last fall in Detroit. The seminar started off on a bad note because someone stole all of his camera gear. Monte didn’t let it bother him a bit. He actually joked with the crowd and was upbeat about it. He borrowed a lens from a crowd member for the evening.
Two quoted that I have heard from Monte are:
“Your images should be a lasting testament long after you are gone.”
“Success as a person is to affect people’s lives in a positive way.”
What a great man and I know that he is in photography bliss now.

Have a great day.
