Life is good here in Southwest Michigan. I drove down yesterday and detoured to visit my August 23rd wedding parents in Cassopolis, MI. It was a couple hours out of my way but it was well worth the trip there to see their beautiful house and hear about the awesome wedding ceremony and reception. It is going to be so cool and I am really excited about capturing their day! We ended up talking for over 3 hours and they took me to dinner too, nice people. Check back after August 23 to see some fabulous shots on the lake and some of my fine touches.
This morning it was storming with some hard rains too. I have an outdoor wedding today so I am hoping for a break. It has stopped now, it never rains on my photography.:-) The wedding today is at the Kalamazoo Nature Center in Kalamazoo, Michigan and the reception is located at Cityscape Event Center in Kalamazoo. Looking forward to working with the couple and making fantastic images.
I am a member of Canon Professional Services and I just loaned a 24-70 L lens for day couple weeks. Going to give it a test today. Not sure how it will fit in the mix but thought I would give it a try. This lens was delivered by FedEx express to the wrong address! Can you believe it. At $1200 you would think that they would check the signature. Luckily I have honest people in our town.
I am staying at our house in Allegan. It is still on the market. Someone is going to get a fantastic house with a killer deck and stamped concrete patio. I just love our yard and the peaceful atmosphere! It is my hotel right now.

A question for everyone, when do you plan on cutting your cake at your wedding? Before or after dinner? I will tell you my answer to this question on the next blog.
