Northern Michigan destination Wedding Mackinac Island Springtime

The cold weather has finally broken in Northern Michigan!  I thank Jackie and Chris for bringing the warmth of their smiles and Wedding day along with them to help thaw us locals out.

Jackie and Chris chose Mackinac Island in Northern Michigan for their Wedding location.  They invited 140 of their closest family and friends to join them for a weekend of fun and sun on Mackinac Island.

You really could not have asked for more on this gorgeous May weekend in Northern Michigan.  You wouldn’t even know that the water temp was hovering around 40 degrees on the surface!

The Wedding party was very small and this Wedding had simple details too.  It was all about family and friends and the Mackinac Island experience at one of the coolest places in Michigan.

The Wedding Ceremony was at Ste. Anne’s Church and Father Craig Haider from Cheboygan officiated.  It was beautiful.  Full mass that was about one hour in length.  One special touch that I had never seen done before was that the Bride and Groom handed out the wine.  Pretty cool!

Jackie had the Wedding coordinator at the Grand Hotel, Marty, do most of the ground work for the Wedding reception.  The Grand Hotel supplied the cake and flowers through Margaret’s Garden.  Astor’s Salon did Jackie’s hair and makeup too.  The Grand Hotel is a perfect spot to just show up for your Wedding day and have it run smooth all the time.

The Grand Hotel orchestra played at the Wedding reception and the crowd loved them too.

The first dance song was “The One” by Elton John.

Congratulations to Jackie and Chris!  Have a wonderful time in Maui on your honeymoon!
