I love intimate Weddings at the Grand Hotel.   I can honestly say that they are the most well-managed events that I have photographed.  Marty, the coordinator at the Grand Hotel, is awesome.  Sometimes I think she has psychic powers, or maybe it is just the power of a wonderful staff.

Yes, Grand Hotels are not inexpensive.  But, you do receive a GRAND Wedding.

Beginning at the Masco Cottage at the Grand Hotel, I meet the Groom with his family.

We make gorgeous images for about fifteen minutes prior to the Bride at the Masco Cottage for her pre-Wedding photography.

The Bride looks amazing!  Astor’s Salon does the best job with her makeup and hair piece.  The hair piece is part of the floral design by Margaret’s Garden.

Margaret’s Garden at the Grand Hotel knows how to design amazing pieces.  In addition, the flowers are ALWAYS fresh.  I have never had a Bride who was disappointed with her flowers from Margaret’s Garden at the Grand Hotel.

We walk around the Grand Hotel and use the incredible colors and themes to highlight the beauty of the Bride and her daughters.  Where can you find this amount of variety in one location.  Granted, the Grand Hotel is not small but it does have variety everywhere.

The Grand Hotel designer has a style of his own.

What I, and most people love, about Grand Hotel West Porch Weddings is the fact the Wedding aisle is insane.  In addition, the views of the Mackinac Bridge and the Straits of Mackinac are magnificent.  Add in the fact that everything is perfect and GRAND too.

Most porch Weddings are relatively short.  This is the case with this Grand Hotel Wedding too.  A friend marries them while their children are standing by their sides.

Really touching ceremony.  They do a garland ceremony where they wrap garland around themselves, and the kids, and have a blessing.  Very nice touch!

Following the rings, kiss, and pronouncement, the couple recesses down the Grand porch.  The tall pillars make it appear as if they are in roman times.  Love this look!

The happy couple comes back and captures a group photo with everyone on the porch, then a first dance, and the cake cutting.

Guests have a cocktail hour while we photograph family and the couple around the Grand Hotel grounds.

My day ends as we end up at the Jockey Club entrance where the intimate and relaxed Wedding meal is taking place.
